National annual meeting of the Bulgarian Information Consortium
On the 27th 2019 (Wednesday) in hall № 207 “Acad. Ivan Evstratiev Geshov” in the Central building of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was held the national annual meeting of the Bulgarian Information Consortium. The Chairman of the Management Board Mrs. Nadia Terzieva presented the guests and specialists more information about the activity and development of the organization during the past year, as well as other interesting events and initiatives in the field of libraries and information provision. During the event Dr. Silviya Naydenova, Director of the Central Library of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, made a presentation, dedicated to the anniversary of the institution, which we celebrate this year.
Visit at the Central Library of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University
From the 15th to 20th October 2019 Dr. Silviya Naydenova, director of the Central Library, and Gabriela Georgieva, head of the Library service, book stocks and collections department, visited the Central Library of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University at the invitation of the director Mrs. Irina Zhuravleva. The aim was exchange of experience in the automated library activities, the implementation of new services for readers and the image of the contemporary library. The programme included visit of several libraries - Kharkiv National Medical University, National Technical University, Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Kharkiv Korolenko State Scientific Library. On the 17th October in Poltava, Ukraine, was held the round table "The library of the i_generation: challenges, projections, expectations." Among the participants were representatives of the Central Library and librarians from 3 Polish scientific libraries - Bozhena Svistek-Oborska and Kristina Godzowska from the Adam Mickiewicz University Library in Poznan, Poland; Tomasz Staszczak and Adam Lenitz from the Łódź University of Technology Library; Barbara Kravchuk from the Library of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, etc. The event was organized by the Central Library of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the National Technical Library of the Poltava National Technical University. The Bulgarian representatives received some books, which will be included in our collections. Official opening of the exhibition “Founders and scientists of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences”
On the 14th October 2019 (Monday) at 15.00 in Crystal Garden was officially opened the exhibition "Founders and scientists of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences". It was presented by Dr. Silviya Naydenova, director of the Central Library of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and corresponding-member Vassil Nikolov, vice-president of the academy. Thanks to 26 posters with different photos and annotations in Bulgarian and English everybody could learn more information about the notable researchers, that have contributed for the development of the Bulgarian science and that are an important part of the long history of the academy. The event is organized in cooperation with Sofia Municipality and is part of the events, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the institution.
