For the third year in a row on the 21st September 21 2019, (Saturday), the Central Library took part in the “European Heritage Days – Sofia” initiative. In a special exhibition in the reading room “Acad. Stefan Panaretov” was presented a selected part of all 450 maps and cartographic editions from 1815 to present, which are stored in the institution.
Among them were a map of Danube Bulgaria by Felix Canitz, maps with Gothic font, historical maps of important events, military, educational and political maps, wheather maps, maps of dialects, maps of Bulgaria from different historical periods, etc. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the library’s collections from the curator Angel Petrov and also to see the video dedicated to the 150th anniversary of BAS and the Central Library.
